Service was very good. Fresh oysters on shell were tasty. Next time I will have them add an order of shrimp to gumbo only because I like it with a lot of seafood in it. The restaurant has a great "old bar" feel. We will be back!
Wonderful Service from the wait staff, the bartender and the kitchen staff! Made me feel right at home. I had the oysters and they were delicious. It's been awhile since we've been here. We got there right at 11 so we had a choice of where to sit. The restaurant is quaint and you can sit at a table or bar. The food was homemade and very tasty! I remembered the onion rings being tastier but overall mall the food was good. The service was fine. I did have to ask for a couple of things but still acceptable service.
We have been wintering near Galveston for a few years now and The Black Pearl is one of our favorite stops. When we're not close by, I seriously crave the Shrimp PoBoy. It's a ton of food but I somehow manage to plow through and enjoy every single bite. Seriously, the portions are large. Bring your appetite. Service is always prompt and pleasant. They've got a decent beverage menu and always a few beers on tap. Food recommendations: the calamari, onion rings, Caesar salad, anything with coleslaw, and of course the shrimp po boy. Also...the Tuesday special is seafood enchiladas--amazing!
